Hello, Josh has asked
me to write about the success I've had with his hormone
program. I will be glad to say that my last set of blood
tests from the medical doctor came back with normal
levels of thyroid, triglycerides, liver, and kidney
levels. In the beginning I was a bit concerned that
my symptoms would not change but Josh encouraged me
to stay with the program. I have done so and am very
glad I did.
Josh has also helped my husband, Pat,
with overblown candida and h. pylorie in the intestinal
tract. Being as he is shy about writing your requested
testimonial, I am doing so for him. To date, if he stays
away from gluten, he does well. Thanks to Josh for his
assistance in attaining better health.

"After treating over 7,000 patients in the last
ten years I have found the CHEK system of exercise to
be the best method for eliminating back and neck pain.
As a chiropractor I have extensive training in the assessment
and treatment of back pain. In my practice I refer all
my back pain patients to a competent CHEK practitioner
where they can learn about their postural distortion
patterns and muscle imbalances that are generating their
musculoskeletal pain.
Through corrective exercises including
stretching, strength training, balance training and
many other sophisticated techniques, CHEK Practitioners
can relieve common pain syndromes. Once the pain is
resolved, unlike most physical therapists, a CHEK Practitioner
can then continue training the person for athletic activities
to keep them physically fit and injury free.
I do my own CHEK exercise program and
have for many years and based on my personal experience
want to have all my patients receive the benefits offered
by a qualified CHEK practitioner.”

As a registered nurse,
I knew I would never take any of the cholesterol lowering
medications. I had seen the side effects one too many
times. However, this past March, my cholesterol rose
to 242 and the normal high is 200!!!! I started a program
in April designed by Josh, taking cod liver oil, garlic
tablets, and eating more protein and good fat, and less
carbohydatates! I am using mostly all organic products,
coconut oil, olive oil, and lots of organic produce...whole
milk, butter, unpasteurized cheese- all organic as well!!!
I have replaced bread with rice bread products and crackers...and
stopped eating all the processed products with names
I cannot pronounce....and the great news is that less
than 4 months later my cholesterol has dropped 21 points
already and my bad cholesterol is normal as well as
my ratio!! My doctor was more than pleased...so if you
know anyone that would like to lower their cholesterol
the natural way, contact Josh...
Nurse Nancy, age 57
I was diagnosed with UC (Ulcerative
Colitis) a little over three years ago. This disorder
makes it very difficult to go about your every day life
and enjoy the things you love to do. I have seen many
doctors with hopes of getting help and treatment with
this disorder. Instead of focusing on nutrition, all
the doctors I have seen were focused solely on throwing
prescription drugs at the problem. Over the past few
years I have tried numerous types of anti-inflammatory
meds, none of which helped me manage this disorder.
Not only did these drugs not help my situation, if anything
they might have worsened my overall health by putting
a lot of extra work and strain on my liver and digestive
system.
After the first few months of not having
any success with the drugs I was taking, I asked my
doctor if there were certain foods I should, or should
not be eating. The only nutritional advice he gave me
was to stay away from dairy products since it might
upset my stomach.
After three years of popping lots of
pills (up to 12 pills a day), my doctor finally realized
that the medication regimen wasn’t doing the trick
and that I should consider the next armory of prescription
drugs. He suggested taking oral steroids. In short,
oral steroids have a never ending list of potential
side affects (i.e. weight gain, acne, mood swings, Psychosis,
Osteoporosis, tissue damage, etc.). If I didn’t
respond to oral steroids, the next line of medication
was immune system suppressors, which attempt to reduce
UC symptoms by suppressing the immune system, thus reducing
inflammation. Side effects of these drugs are nausea,
vomiting, liver problems, etc. I found myself at a fork
in the road trying to decide my next step in trying
to get my UC under control.
Fortunately, a couple weeks before my
Doctor told me about the next medication steps, I found
Josh’s website. After listening to some of Josh’s
audio presentations, reading some of the testimonials,
and looking into what type of clients he worked with,
I was eager to contact him and get his take on my situation.
Josh blew me away with his in-depth knowledge on my
condition, the human body, digestion process, and his
abundance of knowledge on nutrition. Josh quickly crafted
a nutrition plan catered to treat my disorder. This
plan was focused around eating organic meat and produce
and lots of fish oil. Josh goes against the mainstream
cookie cutter diet approach, and crafts a health plan
catered to the individual clients needs. After consulting
with Josh, I quickly decided to pursue the nutrition
lifestyle change rather than going down the road of
taking more medication with very potentially bad side
effects.
It has been a couple months on my new
nutrition lifestyle and I am very happy to say that
my UC symptoms are a lot more under control than they
have been over the past few years. I can’t believe
the progress I have made in a short two months. I am
striving to keep focused on my nutrition and overall
health to potentially no longer experience symptoms
from UC. I feel I will reach these goals with Josh’s
nutritional guidance and expertise.
Josh is very passionate and knowledgeable
in his profession of ‘helping people help themselves’.
Getting the ball rolling with this new nutritional lifestyle
was quite an adjustment for me and Josh has been there
to answer all my questions and give me support along
the way. He is truly great at what he does.
Thanks Josh…

"I was in a major car accident
10 years ago and have struggled with chronic neck and
back pain since. I have been through lots of physical
therapy, but continue to be in pain both mentally and
physically. I have only worked with Josh for the past
6 weeks, but wish I found him 10 years ago. I honestly
can say the mentally, physically, and spiritually I
feel so much better. Not only is he a great therapist,
but he makes you feel like you are accomplishing something
great in life and treats you like a friend. I would
recommend him to anyone complaining of pain, that needed
to get in shape, and also in my case, needed some mental
uplifting!"

I have a history of scoliosis which
is a hereditary curvature of the spine. At 10 years
old, I worn an upper body brace and at 17 I had spinal
surgery where they inserted metal rods down my spine
to remove some of the curvature. Over the years I tried
fitness, yoga, Pilates, and massages to alleviate my
back pain.
Ten years ago at the age of 30, I took
up the game of golf. However, I could never finish 9
holes as I was in agony. I was lucky to play 9 holes
and if I finished 18 holes, my back would hurt for days.
This year, I joined a private club, The Crosby Golf
Club, and I decided to try and find someone who could
help me with my back problems so I could golf more.
Alas, I found Josh Rubin. Josh designed
a workout program centered toward strengthening the
muscles around my scoliosis. Through 6 months of exercising
and stretching, I am happy to report I am so much better.
I can now golf 18 holes without pain and have improved
my golf score from 130 to the low 90s. From Josh’s
instructions on proper golf stance, alignment, exercises,
stretching and nutrition, I have lowered my handicap
from 30 to 15.
From Josh’s nutritional program
and metabolic testing, I have lost about 16 lbs. Previously,
I was not sleeping very well, always waking up between
1 and 4 am. Now, I am getting a full night sleep. My
husband and friends noticed the dramatic change so much
they are now clients of Josh.
I would recommend Josh to anyone who
really wants to seriously improve their golf game, if
not their overall health and life.

I have written the
following testimonial because I have never met such
a helpful and knowledgeable person in my entire life.
This person would be Josh Rubin.
It all began last year, in the month of
February 2005 whereby I started to develop a pain in
my left leg. I didn’t know what the problem was
or how I had hurt my leg however, I was determined to
find a solution. I went to several Doctors, Chiropractors,
Massage Therapists and so called health professionals.
The doctor told me I should take an anti-inflammatory
and Tylenol for the pain. The chiropractor and massage
therapists indicated that I had sciatica. By the month
of May, I finally had an appointment with a sports medicine
specialist whereby he indicated that I had a bulging
disk but had no clue how to treat me and recommended
an MRI whereby I would have to wait 4 – 6 months
because I apparently wasn’t an urgent case. I
couldn’t understand how I wasn’t an urgent
case because at this point I was in so much pain walking,
lying down and I couldn’t sit at all and naturally
could not work!
I had no idea what I was going to do because
no one could help me even though my doctor knew that
I was suffering from a bulging disk, location L4-L5.
The pain continued to get worse and by the first week
of July I woke up and couldn’t get out of bed
because I was in so much pain. I was bedridden! I still
had no idea what I was going to do. I couldn’t
work and had not been at work since May due to the pain.
I stayed in bed and hoped and prayed that I would get
better but the pain only worsened. I finally got an
idea that if there was one person on this planet that
could help me it would be Paul Chek located in California!
In agony, I hauled myself out of bed and
went to the computer to send him an email and asked
for his assistance. He indicated that I should speak
to
one of his practitioners at the clinic named Josh Rubin.
Josh and I started communicating right away and I sent
him my diagnosis from the doctor.
Josh helped me immediately by telling me how I should
lay down, stand up, get out of bed, etc. Then he helped
me by putting a program together for me
because it appears that I developed a bulging disk due
to weak stomach muscles, weak back muscles, bad posture
and years of sitting at my computer desk hunched over.
So, I started the program in January 2006
and within the first week I started noticing an improvement.
The pain started to diminish slightly and I could start
walking again a few steps at a time. By the fourth week
being on Josh’s program I could walk around the
house quite comfortably even though I was still in a
lot of pain but I was improving immensely.
Josh and I kept in touch and we would
communicate on a weekly basis to see how I was progressing.
I was so happy communicating with Josh because no one
else could help me with my back problem. He continually
encouraged me to do my exercises according to his schedule
and I followed them diligently. I was very depressed
when I first met Josh because I felt there was no hope
and the pain had gotten so intense that at times I had
wished myself away.
Not only was I depressed but I was so
angry because here I am living in Toronto, Ontario and
whereby there is an abundance of so many “health
professionals” and they had absolutely no clue
how to treat my condition!
Many months passed by and in August 2006
I flew out to Vista, California to meet with Josh for
an assessment in order to continue with our program.
It was a wonderful experience and a well deserved and
needed vacation.
Anyway, Josh and I are still working together
and I am in the 3rd part of my program and I would like
to say that I am feeling great. I can walk, sit and
almost do everything that I used to be able to do.
If there is one thing that I would like
to say is that I am very thankful for having met Josh.
I feel that he changed my entire life around because
he was there for me when I was clearly experiencing
one of the worst times in my life. He listened to me
when I was so upset and cheered me up and encouraged
me and promised things would get better as long as I
followed the program.
Josh is such a caring, understanding,
helpful and an extremely knowledgeable person and I
am very thankful for having him in my life.
I would highly recommend him to anyone who requires
nutritional assistance or experiencing any kind of back
pain, or pain in their body because I am absolutely
certain that Josh will be able to assist and get you
back on the right path!

“I am an arthritic 66 year old woman who had about given up on life due to pain and my physical state. Under Josh’s coaching and encouragement I have more mobility than ever. I have not been able to walk up and down stairs due to pain for the past 15 years. I can now walk up and down any flight that gets in front of me, as well as do it with no pain!. I walk better, ride my bike and play with my grandchildren. Life is now what it is supposed to be, good! I truly appreciate everything that he has taught me, as well as done for me mentally. He has also taught me that actions speak louder than words. For so many years I have been overweight and talking about do this diet, going to that gym, trying that workout, but never really committing myself to it. When you work with Josh, he makes you realize that he is only the coach. It is your actions that are going to get you to the top.”

"An exercise session with Josh is an experience to which I look forward with considerable pleasure. Typically I am hurried and stressed as he greets me relaxed and interested in my world. He begins my sessions with both warm up conversation and exercise which is followed by a more serious routine for which Josh is well prepared. Rather than only refining techniques of previous exercises, he blends a combination of those of which I am familiar and others unknown to me. Each exercise has been specifically selected by him to give me the core training I require. With sensitivity to the alignment, strength and flexibility of my "total body", he uncannily knows the resistance or weight and reps to challenge me. Do I strive to get his "Good Job, Bob" at the end of a routine? You bet! And my reward at the end of our session? Yes, a sense of well being. Even more, rather than exercise I have had an experience that Josh planned for me to enjoy.
Through his training and encouragement, Josh has restored my pleasure in exercising and remaining fit. Before working out per Josh's instructions, exercise typically added discomfort to low, lingering pain that had been caused by minor injuries over my years. Unlike other trainers who had worked with me in the past, in our initial session Josh identified conditions that were causing my body to be misaligned. Through his understanding of a "total body approach", he was able to coach me through exercises that strengthened certain muscles that would better hold my body in alignment.
In other instances, he prescribed exercises that stretched my muscles giving my body more flexibility. Thanks to Josh, the pains in one leg and my back that have bothered me for many, many years are no longer discernible."

"I had always been into staying fit and healthy.
My whole body and endurance level changed when I was
pregnant. Josh was very careful to only give me routines
that were appropriate for my ever changing body. He
made sure that what we did during training was safe
and okay with my doctor.
I stayed fit through my whole pregnancy. I continued
training with Josh after my son was born and got right
back into my pre pregnancy shape."

"I injured myself in 2002 while
doing an intense workout program. I was left with
great pain due to two torn and bulging discs, as well
as other issues. The pain was completely disabling
at times. Simple things like getting dressed were
just about impossible. I tried everything "traditional,"
none of which helped, some of which made me worse.
My doctor sent me for surgical opinions, and although
each surgeon I saw was more than willing to operate
on me, it just didn't feel right. I did other things,
like "postural therapy," which helped me
in a very limited way. I was still, however, unable
to sit for any length of time without great pain,
which is difficult to deal with since I sit all day
at work and am also completing a doctoral dissertation
which requires lots of time sitting at a computer.
About 6 weeks ago I started working with Josh Rubin.
I'd had some setbacks with the postural therapy I'd
been doing (it seemed to be making me worse) and the
pain was intolerable. Within a very short time of
working with Josh, doing the workouts and incorporating
his suggestions, I could tolerate sitting for several
hours with little or no pain for the first time in
over 3 years. Actually, after my first workout with
Josh I had a period of about an hour with zero pain
- I couldn't believe it! I'd never expected to be
pain-free again, so this really showed me I was on
the right track. I can now make it through the workday
more easily, and some days I don't even take any pain
medicine.
I can't say enough good things about Josh. He's helpful,
smart, easygoing, and great to work with. Particularly
after the frustrations of dealing with doctors who
couldn't do anything for me and didn't seem to have
any ideas other than surgery (!) it has been awesome
to find Josh. I finally feel hopeful that I can manage
my back issues and I know over time with continued
work my situation will improve."

"When I first met Josh Rubin,
I was a little taken back by how young he was. I was
dubious whether or not he had the skills and training
to deal with an overweight, “under-exercised,”
menopausal woman. What did someone from Gen X know about
a seasoned baby boomer?
As we talked, I realized
Josh’s knowledge and acumen regarding weight and
exercise was extensive and he did not have a one size
fits all approach to helping people reconnect to health
and fitness. After a through examination he developed
a program specific to my body type, age, life &
work style, and special health needs.
I have a medical condition known as Interstitial
Cystitis (IC). In the nine years since my diagnosis,
Josh is the only non- IC person I met who knew how to
pronounce the medical term, and treated another woman
with this same condition.
Josh’s diet and exercise program
is simple enough to follow. I travel extensively and
needed exercises I could do in my hotel room. I also
attend as many as 10-15 meetings a month. These meetings
usually include lunch and dinner. I needed a diet that
would accommodate these particular circumstances.
Prior to following Josh’s diet,
I was ingesting more antacids than food. I was taking
them as many as six or seven times a day. Just by eliminating
all the “crap food” from my diet and following
Josh’s simple food suggestions: eat more protein
and vegetables, eliminate excess sweets and starch,
I stopped taking my daily mega-doses of antacids.
It took me several weeks to acclimate to a healthier
diet. As the weeks progress it has become less of a
struggle. I am still doing battle with the exercise
program. With Josh’s coaching, and weekly follow-ups,
I am slowly conquering this trouble spot. I lost a dress
size, and I have managed to do the exercises more consistently.
Josh has been a great asset in my life.
Even though I have a long journey ahead of me to reach
my optimum weight and body size, with Josh’s encouragement
and counseling I feel I will reach my goals.
My most productive meeting in 2006, was
with Josh Rubin. I am thankful I started his program,
and have been grateful for his continued advice and
support."

"In January of this year I had
just finished up 12 sessions of chemotherapy and had been
cleared by my Doctor to return to normal living. But I
knew that in order to keep the cancer away, I needed to
make big changes in my life.
My diet, work-out
program, and the way I was living my life were all out
of whack. When I came to Josh, I didn’t know what
to expect. A lifestyle coach, what was that?
Josh not only changed my diet around
to include organic foods but he also educated me on
what my previous eating and drinking habits could do
to my body, it was scary to say the least.
Throughout my cancer treatment, I managed to lose 40
pounds of muscle. In order to effectively fight the
cancer I had to get that muscle back. Josh set me up
with a new style of working out which not only helped
me regain my weight but also added a level of flexibility
that I never knew I had.
Lastly, and just as important,
Josh taught me new lifestyle changes that have improve
my overall well-being. By following Josh’s beliefs
in meditation, the importance of quality family time,
and basically loving myself more, I am now moving forward
in my life with a “can’t lose” attitude
and a sense of peace that I never had before. Thank
you Josh, I owe a large part of my recovery from cancer
to you."

"My journey into wellness and well
being started in 2003. My experiences guided me to my
current job and this is when Josh came into my life.
With his support, honesty and his passion for what he
does, he has taught me how to help myself.
For years I thought my body was broken
with a degenerate disk in my lower back. This is from
three separate injuries to my lower back over a period
of many years. Living with pain for so many years and
fearful of getting hurt again, was the major factor
in my fear to exercise. It’s hard to accept that
I could have pain free days after being told by several
in the medical profession other wise.
With nutritional changes, the proper stretching
and exercising, I am overcoming my fears of hurting
my body again. As well as I have begun to enjoy my life
more, with pain free days, and the freedom to move again.
This has created a life of feeling good about myself.
Thank you Josh!"

I have suffered from Ulcerative Colitis
for the past 6 years. Although I controlled my symptoms
fairly well through diet and lifestyle, I still had
at least on flare up a year. In 2007 I became pregnant
with my first son and my symptoms came back worse than
they had ever been. I was losing a good amount of blood
each day and quickly becoming anemic. My energy was
plummeting and I was not gaining weight at the rate
that was recommended. In fact, I would go months with
only gaining a pound or two during my second and third
trimester. I was so scared that the baby was not getting
enough nutrients. The doctors told me I needed to eat
more to keep my weight up, but I was eating as much
as I possibly could. My doctors did not seem overly
concerned about the blood loss and told me to take an
iron supplement. They also kept telling me to have dairy
for calcium and to have milk shakes and other calorie
dense foods to put on weight. I knew this wasn't right.
Dairy upset my stomach and flared up my symptoms!
Out of desperation I called Josh and explained my situation.
He put me on a diet eliminating all allergens and my
symptoms started to clear up. In the mean time I went
to see a gastrointeroligist who told me the diet that
I was on was worse for my symptoms. I disagreed, my
symptoms were getting better every day.
Josh also worked on lifestyle and emotional links to
my symptoms. I worked hard to make sure I was taking
time for "me" everyday. Within a month my
symptoms had subsided.
I gave birth to a healthy baby boy at 7lbs 12oz's. I
have kept implementing all of the recommendations from
Josh and feel better than ever physically, mentally
and emotionally. I really cannot remember the last time
I felt so good. Thank you Josh for all of you advice.
You have made such a huge impact on mine and my family's
lives.

My name is Cindy Myers and I’m
39 years old. I’ve been working with Josh Rubin
for about a year now. I met Josh by way of my personal
health and fitness coach, Ryan Bailey. About ten years
ago, my doctor diagnosed me with Lupus and as a result,
my immune system got weaker and weaker. I’m sure
that the working out 5 days a weak and sometimes two
times in one day did not help matters.
When I came to Josh I had been sick
for two months straight with a cold, my body was run
down, my spirit was at an all time low, and I needed
help. At my first meeting with Josh, he asked me to
cut back on working out so much; I really was running
myself ragged on working out. Josh explained to me that
my immune system was already stressed out and me working
out that hard was only stressing my body out even more.
This was so hard for me to give up, because for years,
I had always struggled with my weight and I worked out
that hard just to maintain and sometimes to loose the
weight…..the last 5 years it had been to loose
weight. One of the things Josh told me that has always
stuck with me, is that you have to be healthy on the
inside to loose weight. Meaning, if you’re body
is not functioning properly on the inside, it’s
not going to allow you to loose weight, it’s not
going to give you a healthy immune system, it not going
to repair itself. The next thing Josh recommended is
that I do an Adrenal Test. When Josh and I reviewed
the results of my adrenal test, I was overwhelmed and
I remember telling him I felt broken. He was incredibly
encouraging and told me “don’t think of
it as broken, think of it as knowing what you’ve
got to deal with, so you can begin to fix it”.
I know that I didn’t show much enthusiasm, but
after getting my action plan from Josh, I knew Josh
would be the one to help me heal my body.
After taking the recommended herbal
drops for 6 months I’m happy to report that I
am feeling FANTASTIC! I just completed a re-test of
my adrenals, and things are looking really, really good.
My body is responding great to the changes that I’ve
made. Josh was happy to hear that my body was showing
results so quickly and I felt good knowing my body was
starting to heal. I’m by no means out of the woods,
but I don’t feel afraid of the journey anymore,
especially knowing that Josh will be there to walk it
with me, to encourage me along the way, and to keep
me on track.
Josh is incredibly knowledgeable in
his field and his confidence makes it easy to place
yourself in his care. His compassion for his clients
makes him easy to talk to; I’ve been able to talk
to Josh openly about things I could not talk to my doctor
about. Thank you Josh for your encouragement and your
guidance, I truly appreciate that we crossed paths.
Cindy Myers
I met Josh when I needed help with a
client who was above my level. I asked him to coach
me so that I could help her. During this time we briefly
discussed a few of my issues. As I was starting the
“CHEK journey” and starting classes I realized
that he was right when he told me I needed to “Walk
the Walk” if I was going to teach CHEK to my clients.
This is where my Hormone Rebalancing journey started.
I decided to go off the birth control
pill and my hormone levels completely crashed within
3 days. I went to my N.D. who put me on bio-identical
estrogen and progesterone. As my body desperately needed
these I felt better within 24 hours. However, it was
to be short lived. By six months my body was no longer
responding; my hot flashes were coming back and worse
then that I had insomnia about two weeks out of every
month. I called Josh for help, again, but this time
it was for me. He explained that by taking estrogen,
my doctor was trying to work from the bottom up instead
of from the top down. He put me on Bio-identical Pregnenolone
drops, along with Progesterone and DHEA drops. I am
happy to say that I feel great and I once again know
what 8 hours of sound sleep is like. I have not had
insomnia in months and wake with the sun feeling rested.
Hope all is well. Just a short note
to let you know I have dropped 3 sizes since starting
the Pregnenolone. I have no idea what I weigh (nor do
I care), I just know I love the way I am looking. If
I drop just a little more body fat that is hanging on
I will almost look like I did when I was in my 20's.
Thanks for all your help.
Marilyn Raineville Age 57
After an accident in 2005, I had an
arthroscopic meniscus surgery of the right knee. My
meniscus was torn in two places and an X-ray showed
a minor osteoarthritis.
For the following 2 years, I consulted
several medical specialists, was sent to three separate
physical therapies, had innumerable x-rays and several
MRI studies, steroid and other injections, but nothing
seemed to work. I was still in PAIN!
Finally, I received a recommendation
to work with Josh Rubin. After an initial evaluation,
Josh prepared a personalized program of stretching and
exercises. He patiently taught me these exercises and
videotaped them for my use at home. He started with
stretching first, then gave me exercises to build my
leg muscles and ended with more difficult exercises
building strength and balance of my whole body. In addition,
he at in 6 Neuromuscular Therapy and Moxa treatments
in order to facilitate my healing. The main difference
between regular physical therapy and Josh’s approach
is that Josh does not treat only one part of your body
but considers you as a whole with many parts working
together in perfect harmony.
Now, I am much better, free of pain,
feel stronger and in charge of my healing. I enjoyed
working with Josh and give him my highest recommendation.
