Welcome to
Healing Simplified:
A Shift in Perspective
Discover our transformative 9-series training, unveiling our 5 foundational principles to healing. In a world trapped in a cycle of sympathetic nervous system response, finding safety becomes paramount for true healing. For those who have explored every avenue yet still seek vitality, and for those who need to heal from the very process of healing itself, this training is a beacon of hope and understanding. Join us as we navigate the path to healing, simplifying the journey one perspective shift at a time.
Â
What we share in this training is what 99.9% of the population is missing:
Most of us have been taught to chase fixes—new diets, more supplements, endless testing—hoping they’ll finally unlock healing. But here’s the truth: none of it can work if your body is running on empty. When energy is low, your body doesn’t see “healing” as the priority; it sees survival. That’s why step one is not another protocol—it’s learning how to restore energy and regulation so your body feels safe enough to use all the healing mechanisms it already has.
This concept is what separates us from the rest. We work upstream to support the signals so the hormones can do what they need to do (adrenal, thyroid, sex steroidal hormones, the gut can prioritize balance, breakdown and absorption, the immune system can protect, the liver can detox).
When we work with the energy systems and bring regulation back to the system we see:
Hormones come back into balance (PMS symptoms, cramping, skipped cycles, heavy bleeding, fibroids, PCOS)
Digestion restore itself (dysbiosis, bloating, SIBO, constipation, diarrhea, IBS, food intolerances, histamine, GERD)
Immune system issues begin to quiet down
People who have not slept in decades are getting restorative sleep that supports cellular repair and cleanup
Exhaustion lifting and people now have the energy to get through their days
People finding joy for the first time
People begin to move very gently through their traumas and work through the process of rewriting their story
Â
So much healing begins to unfold.Â
We share all this with you so you can begin to more deeply understand the language we need to continue to explore and refine to anchor this shift in the way we are approaching healing.
With care,
Jeanne & Josh

Welcome to the very first lesson of the Healing Simplified training!Â
We created this training for people who feel like they’ve “tried it all” when it comes to health—restrictive diets, endless supplements, complicated protocols—yet still aren’t getting the results they want. If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
Our goal? To simplify healing. To save you time, money, and energy. To give you “lightbulb” moments that reconnect you with your body and help you feel healthier—without the overwhelm.
In This Episode
We dive into the single biggest shift that transformed everything we thought we knew about nutrition and healing. You’ll hear why food and supplements alone aren’t enough if you don’t have a strong foundation in place.
We also unpack the 5 Tenants of Healing that guide everything we teach:
- Awareness through observation – learning to listen to your body’s signals.
- Consistency – building sustainable habits that last.
- Patience – giving your body time to repair and restore.
- Trust in self – reconnecting with your body’s wisdom.
- Courage – stepping into new ways of thinking and living.
Episode 1: How Your Trauma Has Shaped Your Health
In this episode of the Healing Simplified training, we’re exploring a topic that often goes unaddressed when it comes to health: trauma.
From the moment of conception to this very moment, everything you’ve been exposed to—physically, emotionally, mentally—shapes your current state of health. Your symptoms, patterns, and struggles aren’t random; they are a reflection of your lived experience.
If you’ve ever wondered why “just eating healthy” or “taking the right supplements” hasn’t been enough, this episode will help connect the dots.
In This Episode
We’ll dive into:
- The different types of trauma and how they impact health:
Developmental Trauma - Micro-Traumas (the small, repeated stressors)
- Chronic Trauma
- The Biopsychosocial Theory and why it matters for understanding your healing journey.
- Genetics and Epigenetics—how your biology is influenced not just by what you inherit, but by the environment you live in.
- Rewriting the story. The narratives we tell ourselves often keep us stuck. By shifting the story, we create new cues of safety for the nervous system and open the door for healing.
“I’m telling myself a story—and it’s limiting me.”
This episode will help you see how to recognize that story and begin to change it.
Episode 2: 5 Steps to a Nourished Nervous System
In this episode of the Healing Simplified training, we’re talking about something truly hopeful: your nervous system’s ability to change, grow, and heal.
This capacity—called neuroplasticity—means that no matter your age, diagnosis, or health history, your brain and body can adapt in powerful ways. When we change the external environment, we shift the internal one. And that’s where real healing begins.
In This Episode
We’ll explore the 5 stages of neuroplastic healing and how each step creates space for your nervous system to thrive:
- Correction of General Function
- Using the principles of The Nourished Nervous System to create external changes that ripple inward.
- Neurostimulation
- Providing healthy stimulus to the nervous system through practices like yoga, sun exposure, listening to music, or dancing.
- Neuromodulation
- Quieting the chaos, calming overstimulation, and creating stability.
- Neurorelaxation
- Supporting deep repair—at the cellular level, within organ systems, and even within the immune system—through balance and rest.
- Neurodifferentiation / Learning
- Reprogramming by living in mind-body balance and practicing new ways of being.
Episode 3: What Your Doctor Didn’t Tell You About Healing
In this episode of the Healing Simplified training, we’re pulling back the curtain on one of the most overlooked truths in health: you cannot heal in the same environment where you got sick.
So often we’re told to “eat this, take that, do more tests” … but rarely do we hear about the daily rhythms and environments that quietly shape our health. Healing requires more than a pill or a protocol—it requires a shift in how we live.
In This Episode
We’ll talk about how external changes create space for internal transformation—and why your environment might be the missing piece in your healing journey.
- Everyday examples of environments that keep you stuck:
- A messy desk that fuels mental clutter
- Too much time indoors, away from natural light
- Jumping straight to your phone in the morning
- Saying “yes” to everything (and never saying “no”)
- Living without boundaries
Constant exposure to the news and negativity - Why changing the external changes the internal
Small adjustments to your surroundings and rhythms can reduce stress signals and give your nervous system cues of safety. - The power of simplicity and rhythm
Healing doesn’t have to be complicated. Often, it’s about slowing down, creating consistency, and living in sync with natural rhythms.
This episode will help you see that healing isn’t just about what you do—it’s about where and how you live.
Episode 4: Love (and Nutrition) Is a Battlefield
In this episode of the Healing Simplified training, we’re tackling a truth that so many people miss: stress changes the way your body uses food.
You can eat the “perfect” diet, but if your system is in survival mode, nutrients aren’t being stored or used in the way you need them to be. Healing requires more than what’s on your plate—it’s about creating safety, balance, and stability in the body so nourishment can actually work for you.
In This Episode
We’ll break down:
- The gateway: why food is important, but not the whole story.
- How stress alters energy: how chronic stress impacts your ability to store and produce energy, leaving you depleted.
- Energy vs. Inflammation: the tug-of-war inside your body and how to tip the scales toward energy production.
- Metabolic nutrients: the role of key nutrients in fueling your cells and nervous system.
- Finding balance and safety: how true nourishment comes from more than food—it comes from an environment and rhythm that signals safety to your body.
By the end of this episode you’ll have a clearer understanding of why nutrition is only one piece to the healing puzzle and more often than not, the smaller piece.Â
Episode 5: Breath Work: “Shut Your Mouth & Save Your Life”
In this episode of the Healing Simplified training, we explore one of the simplest, yet most powerful healing tools you already have: your breath.
Breath is more than just air—it’s the remote control for your brain and nervous system. Learning how to shift from automatic to conscious breathing can regulate stress, improve energy, and literally change the way your body functions.
In This Episode
We’ll break down:
- Reorientation: how conscious breathing gets you out of your head and back into your body.
- Automatic vs. Conscious Breathing: the difference between being “breathed” vs. actively using your breath to support healing.
- The primary function of respiration: why oxygen is critical for energy production at the cellular level.
- How oxygen is regulated in the body: the key roles of copper, iron, and thyroid hormone (T3).
- Structure governs function: how the way you breathe shapes the way your body works.
- What kind of breather are you? Practical awareness for understanding your own breathing patterns.
By the end of this episode, you’ll see how breathwork can become a foundational tool for restoring balance, regulating energy, and supporting whole-body healing.
Episode 6: The Sun Doesn’t Cause Skin Cancer
We’ve all heard it: “The sun causes skin cancer.” But what if that statement is as misleading as saying “spoons make people fat”? In this episode of the Healing Simplified training, we uncover the truth about sunlight, light biology, and your health.
Far from being dangerous, the sun is a vital source of life, light, and energy—critical for your circadian rhythms, hormone balance, and cellular energy production. The real problem? How modern lifestyles have disconnected us from the natural rhythms of light and dark.
In This Episode
You’ll learn:
- Circadian Rhythms & the Master Clock
- How the sun and moon regulate your body through the SCN in the hypothalamus.
- The delicate balance between melatonin and cortisol.
- The Effects of Light Exposure
- The difference between natural sunlight and artificial blue light.
- Sunrise (~1600K) vs. phone screens (~6000K).
- The short-term and long-term consequences of mismatched light exposure.
- Healing Power of the Sun
- UVA light: signals your body to produce serotonin, pregnenolone, dopamine, thyroid hormone, and sex hormones.
- UVB light: essential for Vitamin D production.
- How to Optimize Sunlight for Healing
- Get outside at sunrise and look toward the sun. If you miss sunrise, catch UVA rise.
- Use red light therapy as a support tool—not a replacement for sunlight—when your foundations are strong.
- Linked to Complex IV and cytochrome c oxidase (copper-dependent).
- Best used during daylight hours, with short exposures that gradually increase.
This episode will give you a new perspective on light as medicine—and practical steps to reconnect with the rhythms that nature designed for healing.
Episode 7: Create the Body You Want in 15 Minutes
When it comes to health, many people think the answer is more time in the gym, more miles on the treadmill, or more intensity. But here’s the truth: movement is part of your human design—and it doesn’t have to be complicated.
In this episode of the Healing Simplified training, we’ll show you how just 15 minutes of intentional movement can completely change your health by supporting hormones, circulation, fluid balance, detoxification, and even injury prevention.
In This Episode
You’ll learn:
- Why movement is essential: how your body is designed for movement and why it’s foundational for health.
- The role of exercise in energy: understanding that exercise is always a form of stress—but how you move determines if it’s supportive or destructive.
- Special considerations: what you need to know about exercise when dealing with low thyroid, adrenal insufficiency, or altered energy systems.
- How to assess your body’s response: using pulse and temperature to know if your movement is fueling you—or draining you.
- The GYR System: a practical tool for evaluating whether your exercise is green (go), yellow (caution), or red (stop).
This episode will help you shift from chasing workouts to embracing movement as medicine—building the body you want with just 15 minutes a day.
Episode 8: How to Actually Have a Great Metabolism
Metabolism gets a lot of buzz—but most people misunderstand what it actually is. At its core, metabolism is your body’s most basic, fundamental need: the ability to create energy.
In this episode of the Healing Simplified training, we break metabolism down to its simplest form—showing you what truly drives it, what slows it down, and how you can support your body to produce energy efficiently.
In This Episode
You’ll learn:
- The foundation of metabolism: why every cell in your body depends on energy production.
- Four key players in cellular energy:
- Glucose (from carbohydrates)
- Oxygen (from the air we breathe)
- Thyroid hormone (from the thyroid gland)
- Minerals (from food)
- Light as a critical regulator of cellular energy.
- Energy vs. Inflammation: why your body is always doing one or the other.
- Efficient vs. inefficient energy production:
- Cellular respiration (efficient, energy-producing)
Glycolytic metabolism (inefficient, stress-driven) - The thyroid’s central role: why every cell depends on thyroid hormone for energy.
- The adrenal-thyroid connection:
- Under stress, adrenals prioritize getting oxygen and glucose to the brain and tissues.
- The thyroid regulates the rate at which glucose is burned.
- Together, they determine whether your metabolism is thriving—or struggling.
By the end of this episode, you’ll understand why metabolism isn’t just about calories—it’s about energy, adaptation, and balance.
