What is the Restoration Thyroid Nutrition Method?

The RTN Method is not another diet . A diet is defined as a regimen of eating and drinking sparingly so as to reduce one’s weight.

The RTN Method is a nutrition philosophy designed to teach you how to use your nutrition in a way that optimizes the purpose of eating food – to fuel the body with energy (a.k.a. food) for the maintenance of life, growth and the functioning of organs and tissues.

What is the Restoration Thyroid Nutrition Method?

The RTN Method is not another diet . A diet is defined as a regimen of eating and drinking sparingly so as to reduce one’s weight, or for medical reasons.

The RTN Method is a nutrition philosophy designed to teach you how to use your nutrition in a way that optimizes the purpose of eating food – to fuel the body with energy (a.k.a. food) for the maintenance of life, growth and the functioning of organs and tissues.

The RTN method is specifically designed to teach people how to develop and nutrition strategy and foundation to:

✔ Reduce stress and inflammation in the body

✔ Increase thyroid hormone conversion

✔ Improve digestive health

✔ Restore balance and function to the HPA axis

✔ Strengthen the immune system

✔ Improve mood and significantly reduce anxiety

✔ Balance the nervous system

✔ Achieve a healthy and optimal weight and so much more!

When the body is unable to produce energy, it has no choice but to compensate with the excess release of stress hormone (ie inflammation) – low energy reserves are a massive stress to the body. Stress hormones suppress thyroid function and over time weaken the resiliency of the nervous system.

The RTN Method teaches you a very specific nutrition strategy designed to interrupt the vicious cycle of the stress physiology and provides the foundation to healing no matter what your condition.

If, we as a society, are going to achieve long lasting health and wellness, we have to first learn how to change the state of the system from being in a stress state of survival to a state of safety and calm.

Adrenal – Thyroid – Nervous System Relationship

Stress itself as defined by the "father of stress research" - Hans Selye, as a physiological reaction in the body that occurs anytime the demands being placedon the body exceed the body's reasonable capacity to fulfill them.

He also states, “there is a limited supply of adaptive energy to deal with stress. That amount declines with continuous exposure.”

As a society, we are heavily exposed to stresses every day and although we are innately designed to manage stress, modern day living has created a level of dissociation that has interfered with our ability to sense what is happening in our body’s, therefore limiting our ability to respond in self-preserving ways.

The physiology of stress eats away at the body, not because it has outlived its usefulness, but because we may no longer have the competence to recognize its signals. We keep ourselves in physiologically stressful situations, within only a dim awareness of distress, or no awareness of it all.

The purpose of the adrenal glands is to help your body cope with stresses and survive. You cannot live without your adrenal hormones and how well you live depends a great deal on the relationship between both the adrenal and thyroid glands.

When the body is stressed its #1 priority in getting oxygen and glucose to the brain and tissues as quickly as possible.  This is where the adrenals and thyroid share their most important relationship, their mutual control over metabolism.

The thyroid regulates the rate at which glucose, the body’s main fuel, is burned where the adrenals regulate the availability of that same fuel.

Having a stressed physiology along with poor nutrition and lifestyle habits, exhausts the body’s energy reserves, which leaves the body’s energy tank empty. With no fuel the thyroid cannot function and the body must adapt.

What is The RTN Method?

It uses simple, inexpensive cutting-edge assessment tools to help you develop a level of awareness that helps you begin to identify the things in your life that create stress in your body/life and the things that support and heal you.

When you give the body what it needs, nature will do the rest.

The RTN Method is so much bigger than nutrition alone.

It’s about exploration and discovery, freedom and empowerment.

It’s about creating an environment your body and mind can thrive.

Testimonials

By the end of the program I had completely revamped my work situation, moved my clinic home, allowed time to breath regularly throughout the day, replaced heavy weight training with daily nature.

I was fortunate enough to work one-on-one with EastWest Healing this past winter and spring, and the guidance throughout this process has been incredible. I tend to get caught up in chasing symptoms and with all of the “health” info out there these days.

I’ve been working one-on-one using the RTN method since last summer. I had a great experience working with it. It has helped me put together a lot of the pieces I had struggled to figure out on my own, especially finding the food combinations.
